Last week I went to Terling, stopping in Boreham to have lunch at the Six Bells before driving on to give my talk at the village hall. I was so taken with the sign over the door that I forgot to take a photograph of the audience. I wanted to ask how many of them had been to watch the wrestling in this sleepy, quiet, rural, North Essex Village but I found a better joke to make about my husband as an opener.

I spent a lovely lunchtime with this delightful group of women at the Saxon Hall in Southend on Sea. Not only did I enjoy the lunch very much but also found the company to be excellent.

Wherever I go to give these talks I meet such friendly and entertaining women. They were both, also, very engaged groups of women.
