Welcome

Marion …..

Is a devoted fan of dance. Ballet was the passion of her life but along with the dreams of so many other aspiring ballerinas, ordinariness got in the way. A late return to classes rekindled her love for dance and led her into a world that she thought had passed her by. She became involved with an amateur ballet company in 2001, joined the committee later that year, became chairman in 2010 and also performed with them between 2001 and 2018.

Giving talks about the complexities of staging major works brought a new dimension of understanding and enthusiasm to audiences from around Essex and beyond, increasing ticket sales considerably as The Company became better known. She retired from the post of Chairman in 2018.

She continues to share her love of dance and theatre by giving entertaining talks to audiences from Towns-women’s Guilds, NWR groups, U3As, Rotary Clubs, Women’s Institutes etc. about her experiences. She give talks wherever there is a desire for interesting, educational and light-hearted talks with ballet as a central theme; although she has now added to her talk repertoire with a totally unrelated subject.

Her talks are no longer given to promote The Ballet Company but to fundraise for the MS Society

All are accompanied by PowerPoint presentations and last approximately 45 minutes. She brings a tutu and shoes to illustrate talks (where appropriate), and can supply all of the equipment needed.

Whilst based in Essex, she is prepared to travel beyond the boundary, depending on exact location and mileage.
