Welcome

Who Am I …..

I’m a devoted fan of dance. Ballet was the passion of my life but along with the dreams of so many other aspiring ballerinas, ordinariness got in the way. A late return to classes rekindled my love for dance and led me into a world that I thought had passed me by. I became involved with an amateur ballet company in 2001, joined the committee later that year, became chairman in 2010 and also performed with them between 2001 and 2018.

Giving talks about the complexities of staging major works brought a new dimension of understanding and enthusiasm to audiences from around Essex and beyond, increasing ticket sales considerably as The Company became better known. I retired from my post as Chairman in 2018.

What do I do….

I continue to share my love of dance and theatre by giving entertaining talks to audiences from Towns-women’s Guilds, NWR groups, U3As, Rotary Clubs, Women’s Institutes etc. about my experiences. I give talks wherever there is a desire for interesting, educational and light-hearted talks with Ballet as a central theme; although I have now added to my talk repertoire with a totally unrelated subject.

My talks are no longer given to promote The Ballet Company but to fundraise for the MS Society

All are accompanied by PowerPoint presentations and last approximately 45 minutes. I bring a tutu and shoes to illustrate talks (where appropriate). I can supply all of the equipment needed.

I am based in Essex but I am prepared to travel beyond the boundary, depending on exact location and mileage.
