I have been working on recording my talks for both the Essex WI and Mirthy.
The WI wish to introduce “Taster talks” to their members, conscious that many of them might be self-isolating, shielding or caring for someone that is, and are actively working towards that goal.
Mirthy is working in conjunction with Mcarthy Stone to bring some light relief to those older people living in their developments.
If any other clubs or groups are interested, please get in touch and I’m sure that we could work out a way to achieve an on-line talk.
It’s a whole new ball-game; difficult to give the same “performance” without the interaction of a live audience and a new set of technical skills to learn.
I am acutely aware of the difficult position many people will find themselves in at the moment and feel blessed that I am still in good health as is my family, but I’m also aware that so many fundraising events have been cancelled that many charities are also suffering from a lack of funds.
As my fees have been donated to the MS Society I would encourage anyone that wished to listen to my “Taster talk” to make a donation, however small.
