I gave a talk to the women from the Great Baddow (afternoon) WI recently; a small friendly group who were very engaged with all I had to say. Thursday I’m off to Hadleigh Castle WI to speak there in the afternoon. I had hoped to have made more progress with my costume but I haven’t and I can hardly take it pinned together in an approximation of how it will look.
On Saturday I’m at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden for one of their “Crafternoons”. It was advertised thus ”
Get making and try your hand at some of the techniques used to bring ballet and opera productions to life…….. Work with the talented craftspeople of the Royal Opera House to learn new skills using real materials, tools and process and make ballet- or opera-themed pieces that you can keep.”
I was very excited about going but have some misgivings now as the photograph they have used to advertise the event shows a group of people watching a sewing machine being threaded! I imagine it was a challenge for the advertising or marketing team to find a suitable picture.
