Great Totham WI

  • by

I had a wonderful welcome by the lovely Women of Great Totham last night. In true WI fashion we sang “Jerusalem” which I haven’t sung for almost a year and was so pleased that I had remembered the words. They were a very receptive audience and many women came to speak to me afterwards, showing a great interest in my tutu and how it was made. I described my new costume to them too, so I hope that I will be invited back in the future to give my talk “It won’t Show on Stage”.

Their cakes were fabulous and I managed to eat two, but was sorry to be unable to eat the third piece that was on my plate.

I’m very sorry that I forgot to take a photograph again!

I had originally hoped to take my new costume to this talk but although I am making progress with it I am taking my time as I want it to be right. Before I made Darth Vader’s cape for my son I made the pattern up in curtain lining so I am using that as the underskirt for my costume. There was 11 metres of fabric in the cape so I’ve had remove two (very) full panels and cut over 18″ from the bottom. I’m still deciding whether to make a separate petticoat or add netting frills to the underskirt.
