Hemel Hempstead PROBUS

  • by

My last talk of the year.

A trip to Hemel Hempstead yesterday morning to give my talk “A View from the Stalls” to a Women’s PROBUS. Unusually, there was no meal involved just mince pies all round. The talk was in the Boxmore theatre, which I would describe as “bijou”.

I battled the M25 in the rush hour, which Google told me was a quicker route than the A414. When I saw the sign for the Plough roundabout, AKA “the magic roundabout”, I groaned but was pleased that the traffic had eased. 6 mini roundabouts in a giant roundabout. When the Satnav said take the 3rd exit I had visions of going round and round, but it was actually straightforward. Skill having been honed at Sadlers Farm (as it was) on the A13. Lovely engaged audience, I’ve already been invited back, albeit for 2025.

Normally I would crop such a picture but I love the lighting bars, and the pull out raked seats at the back of the theatre.
