A good afternoon with an attentive audience. Many members were away on an organised trip to Skegness. This amused those left behind because the weather was assumed to be even worse there than in Essex;a bit of schadenfreude.
Nevertheless there was 40 in the audience.
I’m afraid that we got our wires crossed and I arrived before their meeting commenced to set up and had to sit through all of their business and the tea break. It is often disruptive if I arrive to set up after a meeting has started so I always ask if I can present before any business. Today it was just frustrating for me to sit and wait.
Chatting on the ‘phone beforehand should sort all of these issues and I will make an effort to always do this if the speaker secretary hasn’t contacted me. I live and learn.
