Because of other commitments, I decided to limit my talks a while ago to one a week, but somehow with cancellations, postponements and uncertainty over venues, I’ve managed to book two in one week; Wednesday and Thursday. On Wednesday I will be speaking after a lunch meeting of a Ladies’ PROBUS, then an evening in Woodham Ferrers.
I had such a good time talking to North Weald WI last Wednesday. An emergency call from my father’s carers had to be dealt with and so I arrived slightly late. I hate being late! I only had a landline number so was unable to call to warn them because the contact would have already left home. I always ask for a contact number, but unfortunately not everyone has a mobile, especially amongst the older age group WIs.
It all worked out very well and I was able to get set up quickly and start on time. It’s good to get that buzz again. The president introduced me. “Here’s Marion giving her talk “It’ll be Alright on the Night,” Oh! no she’s not, it’s “It Won’t Show on Stage”! And I’ve been rehearsing that all day too”.
Great stuff and got the talk off to a good start with a laugh.
