Despite having done well over 100 public talks I was actually a bit stressed out by this one. It was cancelled last March because of the “Beast from The East” and rescheduled for this year. Of course things have changed quite drastically so my talk had to be rewritten, or rather reinvented.
To add to the pressure I knew that there would be many in the audience who knew me. I had good support from friends and was relieved that the talk went down so well. I had plenty of praise at the end and many sought me out afterwards to give me their personal congratulations.
Shame that I forgot to take a photograph of the happy throng, so I went back this morning to take a photo of the outside. A small but welcoming venue next to the Parish Church. I also forgot to tell the audience that my fee will be donated to the MS Society. Thank you Kelvedon Hatch Village Society; I hope that you’ll invite me back in the future to give one of my other talks.
