3 More talks = More Donations

Last week I spoke to an unexpectedly small group of J Sainsbury Veterans from Chelmsford and Braintree; a very friendly group who were all very interested in what I had to say.

Last night I spoke to Rayleigh Mount WI and have learnt a valuable lesson. If there is no dedicated parking at the venue and only “a very convenient public car park that always has plenty of spaces” it would be wise to check out if there is anything happening at other venues in the area. I was very lucky that the heavens didn’t open whilst I was unloading everything and then having to dash from a great distance.

Another talk first thing this morning didn’t give me the chance to really act on my own advice and I had more problems in parking at the Community Centre in Wickford. I will be composing a booking form too so that I can try to avoid such problems in the future. There will be a new building opening very shortly for the Community Centre so not a problem for recall talks there. The hall itself didn’t lend itself too well to presentations either, having a “beautiful” mirrored column in the centre of the room.

So another three talks means that I will have another good donation to send on the The Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Looking forward to going to Wye in Kent to deliver my next talk. This group were the instigators of my talk “A View from the Stalls”; whilst I have really enjoyed doing the research for it, I really hope that they enjoy it.

The Noise Level was very high when I arrived.
