After a couple of years of scarce talk bookings (no need for an explanation) I’m encouraged by the number of bookings now coming in. Charities have suffered from lack of opportunities for fundraising so I’m really happy that I can now begin to send contributions again to the MS Society.
Hatch Ladies were a very receptive group; its always a pleasure to have been invited back to a group and this charming group was no exception.
And then, this week, I returned to Stanford Le Hope’s Ladies Club for a 3rd visit. It was especially pleasing to be there because they had worried that after the last 2 years that they might close. But, their chairman Jan told me that they had been established since 1969 and their friendships were so strong that they had to find a way to keep going.
They were so complimentary about my talks that I have resolved to keep working on another talk, just so that I can go back to see them all again. It’s a work in progress, in fact there’s more than one idea that I’ve been expanding and researching, so watch this space. One idea has a sort of ballet theme, and the other one might surprise you. Working out a talk requires not only quite a bit of research but also the introduction of an element of entertainment. I’m looking forward to my next talk in Chigwell and hoping that will also result in more invitations.
On Valentine’s Day I will be visiting Tollesbury WI.
