I’m watching the snow falling and hoping that it doesn’t last too long. Not that I’ve got anywhere to go today, or any exciting prospects on the horizon for that matter.
The last 12 months have been so difficult for us all for so many different reasons. Sadness, loneliness, disrupted lives and lives gone. There have been many moments when I have felt overwhelmed by loss and stressed by circumstances beyond my control; caring responsibilities that seem a heavy burden. I draw on the love of family and friends that still encircles me, knowing that I am one of the lucky ones; so many people are in much worse predicaments and have lost more than me.
But there are signs that Spring is around the corner. Snowdrops are out and and yellow crocuses are peeping through the blanket of snow. I’ve had my 1st vaccination and I have been given the date of my 2nd. I hope that many of you in my past, and prospective, audiences have had your vaccinations and are feeling positive.
The support found in WIs, U3As Towns’ Women’s Guilds, Trefoil Associations and men’s and women’s club all over the country cannot be underestimated. Let’s make sure that when we can go back, that we do go back and enjoy the fellowship once more.
